A friend referred us to Violet & Ivy Cake Design when deciding where to get our wedding cake from. I'm so happy we decided to work with Leanna. Communication was easy and Leanna really brought our ideas to life. There were so many flavours of cake to choose from that we also ordered a tasting box and Leanna had no problem arranging that for us. Cake was delicious! I have been ordering cakes, cupcakes, cookies and many other items from Violet & Ivy for over 6 years now. Her attention to every little detail of making my visions come to life are more extravagant than I’ve ever expected. Every thing she makes tastes phenomenal. I don’t even need half the things I order, but when I do, my tummy is forever grateful for each little bite of happiness. A lot of love goes into creating these delicious cakes. I have been ordering from Leanna for the past two years. I met her at the bridal show and as that day is already overwhelming with people handing you many cards, Leanna was kind and sweet and took the time to talk to you about her company.
What I liked the most about the cakes is that you can order a box and test a variety of flavors. I was not much into sweets. However, I really do enjoy her cakes as it isn't that sweet and just perfect. Since my wedding she has made my bridal shower, baby shower, my daughter baptism and now her first birthday cake. I do not want to look anywhere else and I do like how she takes the time and delivers the cake. I trust Leanna with all my cakes as I let her design it on her own. All I have to do is send her a few examples and she comes up with her own designs. All of her flavors are amazing. She has a variety of choices which most places don't. Leanna is absolutely AMAZING to work with. I chose Violet & Ivy Cake Designs to create my wedding cake & desserts and they were beautiful and fantastic! Our cake was beautiful and we couldn’t be happier. I chose 2 flavours for my 2 tier wedding cake, donuts, cannolis & Carmel chocolate chip Rice Krispie squares and they were so delicious that nothing was left at the end of the night. All of my guests loved the dessert. Leanna offering sample boxes of the cake flavours really put us at ease when choosing a flavour and so excited for our guests to try all of the sweets!

Now that we're on our honeymoon and distressing from all the wedding planning and events, I wanted to take the time to leave a review for this absolutely amazing company/ person.

I met Leanna at the Toronto bridal show and instantly fell in love with her cakes. Not only were the cakes on display beautiful, her passion for making these incredible cakes shown through just in her excitement and enthusiasm when explaining details about her cakes and the creation process. Her willingness to listen to the client and overall warm and caring personality is another added bonus. After the bridal show my now husband and I knew we wanted to work with Leanna to bring or vision to life.

My husband and I had a bunch of different ideas. We liked bits and pieces from multiple cakes but wanted to make it our own. Leanna took all of our inspo pics and created not one but a couple different cake designs for us. All designs were gorgeous but after a couple of wedding hiccups related to venue and decor changes, the cake also had to change. Leanna was so flexible and willingly tweaked the designs to eventually come to our dream cake. The artistic talent and attention to detail was incredible. I will never understand how Leanna was able to make the sugar flowers on our cake look so real and taste amazing.

Also, flavours. Just wow. We were looking for someone with unique flavours. We explored many bakeries to find these flavours and we felt like Leanna's flavours of cake were incredible and also so moist and fresh. Everytime Leanna releases her cake tasting boxes we want to order just because the flavours are that good. We ended up going with pineapple coconut and raspberry lemon and on the night and days after, the cake still tastes like it was made that morning. Absolutely delicious.

The cake Leanna made for our wedding was perfect. It was the one luxury thing we splurged for and it was well worth it. Throughout the entire process, Leanna was kind, professional, and warm. This was important to us because we wanted to work with vendors who had our best interests in mind and were easy going. She answered every question we had and did so in a timely manner. I showed her the inspiration pictures we had for our cake, and she made it exactly the same way. We had a hard time finding a bakery that would have our flavours (coconut cake with mango curd), but she was able to make it for us and it tasted and looked amazing! We had compliments all night and it was one of my favourite things from the wedding since I love dessert. We will be ordering an anniversary cake when the time comes for sure!
